RaveAngels was born out of a desire to make safer spaces for all ravers. Focusing on harm reduction and vibe patrol, all volunteers are trained in harm reduction, CPR and naloxone, with lead volunteers also having de-escalation training. By allowing the volunteers and leads to go out and interact with the crowd, we can provide immediate support to anyone, no matter where they’re at. Our services are provided free of cost thanks to our wonderful team of dedicated volunteers.
This is a queer and BIPOC founded, led and run organization, and as such we are dedicated to and operate using an anti-oppression lens.
Services
Vibe Patrol
By providing vibe patrol services, Rave Angels allows rave goers to feel safer at parties and events, and allows them to have safe people who are trained in harm reduction and have knowledge on substances watch over them. Our volunteers are trained to talk with people having difficult experiences on substances, and can be a safe figure to report any uncomfortable experiences they’re having at the event to. All volunteers are CPR and naloxone trained, so you know your attendees are in good hands. While we are not medical professionals, we can provide trained civilian responders to help until the professionals get there.
All the leads have had de-escalation and crisis training, which is crucial in stopping assaults and other events from spiralling. A lead will be on shift at every event.
Plur Pit
The Plur Pit is a comfortable area filled with all the best decompression tools and two trained volunteers who are there to look after everyone’s needs. While offering a space to just chill and de-compress during a rave is important, the plur pit can also be crucial safety wise in case someone gets too high. By having a safe decompression area at raves and events, this can allow people to stay and wait out the peak or part of their high they’re having issues with, while avoiding the dangers that come with wandering outside or getting into an Uber alone, or worse, going home with someone they don’t know.
